Ioana Costas

Hello My Name Is...

Ioana Costas

Ioana.2

Dear Parents,

I am the new Special Education teacher here at Rock Ridge Elementary. I am incredibly excited to work with you and your child and wanted to send you a letter introducing myself. I graduated from University of Northern Colorado this last December with a Special Education Generalist degree and completed my first teaching position at a school in Greeley this last May. Working with students in the Special Education program has been my dream since I was in fourth grade and I am excited to start my dream here at Rock Ridge!

I
was born in Romania and my parents adopted my brother and I when I was about five years old and have lived in Colorado since. I enjoy volunteering for different organizations, spending time with my family and friends, researching and learning new things, and being outside.

I strongly believe every child has the right to learn and all have the capability to be successful academically, socially and physically. My priority is to help your child succeed in every way and support them with whatever and whenever they need to do so.

I have always been a huge supporter of home-school communication and I want this letter to be the start of our communication. I am excited to learn more about you and your child, hear any thoughts and ideas, as well as any questions and concerns you have about me or your child. I strongly believe when a parent and teacher communicate regularly the child has a more successful school year. Please feel free to contact me at icostas@dcsdk12.org. If you would like to meet in person now or at any time, please let me know and I would love to find a time that works for the both of us! Thank you for taking the time reading this letter and I am very excited to have a great year with your child!

Sincerely,

Ioana Costas
